The World Health Organization (WHO) has handed over maternal and cancer care equipment worth KSh 43 million to the Ministry of Health to strengthen healthcare services for women and newborns across the country. The equipment, received by Principal Secretary for Medical Services Dr. Ouma Oluga at Kenyatta National Hospital, includes 108 electric obstetric theatre beds that will be distributed to 45 health facilities in 11 priority counties. The donation also includes cancer screening, diagnostic, laboratory, pathology and treatment equipment for eight health facilities in Bungoma and Nyandarua counties.
